Wooden Moon
01:35
|
|
||
execution spacesuit
we're lost
found another hole
what cost
tearing apart what we know
hiding the truth from what is shown
living the lie going home
knowing what was seen
that you'll never see
not unless you travel there
and you won't
the dying box is in there
and it holds more than you could ever imagine
and you shouldn't
|

Is I It
02:13
|
|
||
what does it for?
and who did it may?
that is I hear you
here aren't say
there is a you
this aren't is
could it be was?
we aren't it
fuck! shit! what was that!
a feeble attempt at gnashing rhyme
twisting words in vaguest sense
to eliminate all time
what is the goal of a pointless excursion?
if we can't know, we'll enter jointless recursion

Are Your Speakers Blown?
00:51
|
|
||
are your speakers blown out?
are your treasures locked in?
are your secrets zipped shut?
what's dripping down your chin?
are your inches walking?
are your muscles talking?
are your boots whispering?
what page is turning?
are your speakers blown out?

Alive!
02:17
|
|
||
what's eating me?
hide to hide, it follows
from side to slide, never satisfied
with the beat of the heart, and the meat on the bone
it always craves more than is here fully known
and it never stops
it's eating me! alive!
searching every corner of the globe
reaching behind every wall
watching through every window
and pane of glass
and it's fast
you will not leave this room...alive!
|
||||
5. |
Gain
02:44
|
|
||
it takes a lot of pressure to see inside these rooms
it makes a lot of people money without asking any questions
it shakes a lot of perceptions of how the world works in a vacuum
it breaks a lot of spirits to watch the script get flipped to shit so fast
it takes a lot of deserts to fight against its flood
it makes a lot of measures on what we're supposed to do
it cakes a lot in crusted and idealized domains
it fakes a lot of notions to keep us trapped in its plains
gain was never built to last

Breath Metal
01:00
|
|
||
it hangs in the air
it clings to despair
it sticks to your hair
it does not care
it wants you to know
it hopes that you go
it sleeps on the floor
it waits outside your door
hear it knocking
hear it coming inside
hear its breath
breath metal
|
||||

Red Water
02:10
|
|
||
you were told you were something special
hang in the air like a high-flying vessel
calling our names like the priests and their devils
overnight scene
over light screens
older light streets
over old streams of red water
what are you doing still thinking like that?
you'd bend for a broken heart blowing the facts
calming facade hiding tree spears and venom
over old dreams of red water
overnight scenes of red water

Speed Angel
02:20
|
|
||
how could you have possibly known I would spend the rest of my life falling?
whenever I reach my arm out you ignore my calling
who is Speed Angel and why do you talk to him so much?
I don't remember your eyes being that color
where were you the night I said I thought I could fly?
I know you weren't certain I would die
so where are your wings?
I am Speed Angel

Noon's Fault
01:14
|
|
||
we make it up as we go along
we dig by choice, our holes deeper
call these cells of hell our "sleeper"
and there are many hells to choose from
we walk this speed towards a new world
we climb these hills for the new girl
we speed this prayer for the open sky
we make it up as we go along
we dig these holes to make us stronger vessels

In Known Ways
01:32
|
|
||
in known ways
you built a tunnel
to discover your heart
nothing was found
but still you learned
maybe it grows
when you least expect it
or perhaps where
in known ways
I built a castle
to seal myself off
from a world thought destructive
nothing was found
but still I burned
every bridge I built
to the castle
I don't know what I expected
in known ways

Loser In Suit
02:26
|
|
||
bullet through a ceiling mirror
counting all the fallen shards of glass
hunting the dashing look
through the scope of a pistol
which doesn't exist
just like us
you'll never catch us alone, you'll never catch us alone
even if you're lonely too
you'll never catch us alone, you'll never catch us alone
you know it's a grand imagination
you know it's a lot against one
journal so full of ink it sticks to your hands
and your mind and everything else around
you'll never find us alive, you'll never find us alive
even if you're dying too
you'll never find us alive, you'll never find us alive
|

Monsters
01:53
|
|
||
what is this to you?
what is this to you? I don't know
it's in my hand
and it's growing quickly
I can't feel my face
but can you? I won't know
it's in my hand
and it's trying to run off the edge
what is that to you?
what is that to you? you don't know
it's out of my hands
it's no one's now
|
||||
13. |
New Humans
02:25
|
|
||
there's something going on in there
okay no that's too vague
how about this?
they're making experimental humans in there
people just like us
but wrong
third eyes
four fingers
extra bones
with no express purpose
they don't even hide it much
that's not a basement
that's a backyard patio
the world can see
they want you to know
they just won't tell you
|
||||
14. |
I Hate You A Lot
01:29
|
|
||
I wrote a book last night
for you to read on your own time
it's everything you've ever said to me
but with the words reordered and replaced
to make something completely new
just to see what would come up
you talk a lot about yourself
so it's in first-person
you speak a lot of hatred
so it's about the worst person
you hold in your frustrations
so there's no climax
and you don't follow through on things
so it doesn't end

So Alone 2
02:09
|
|
||
sun sets on a lonely agent
marked path on a golden road
gave up trying to find his castle
greened out on the way home
holding hands with the naked angel
born to preach alarming justice
bone statues made for preservation
required as worship for years to come
together in prayer in a sense of existence of space
but deep down they're deep in ceremonial celebration
of an old time thought to be the end
space doesn't end and that's what makes us feel
alone
a cowboy in a wrong time
an astronaut too close to the ground
it's not that cubic, god
just matters lost and found
too ancient for a celebration
too new to receive a reward
just barely scratching future science
but nothing any of you could afford
so alone

Off As Friends
01:56
|
|
||
we met on a waterfall
the mountains were too cold
so the drama made us wet
and ruined our clothes
something we couldn't forget
so we left it off
as friends
we grew on an elevator
drunk as skunks as we watched the night hit day
clapping and dancing
and hitting all the buttons
so we watched our number pass
and still we laughed it off
as friends
I'm not happy here
and you're not having a good time
so we'll leave it off
as friends
